Instituto Últimos Refúgios apresenta Projeto Marsupiais na XVII SEBIVIX

O Instituto Últimos Refúgios marcou presença na 17ª Semana da Biologia da Ufes em Vitória (SeBiVix). Com o tema “Biologia Integrativa e o Futuro da Vida diante dos Desafios Climáticos”, o evento ocorreu entre os dias 8 e 12 de dezembro, no campus Goiabeiras.
No dia 9, as biólogas Ingrid Cole e Rafaela Barbosa apresentaram o Projeto Marsupiais para os participantes. Em um estande educativo, foram expostas imagens de diferentes espécies de marsupiais e exemplares preservados em meio úmido por taxidermia, além de folderes informativos sobre as ações de pesquisa, educação ambiental e conservação desenvolvidas pela iniciativa.
O Projeto Marsupiais, criado em 2017 pelo Instituto Últimos Refúgios, desenvolve atividades de acolhimento, cuidado e reabilitação de marsupiais, além de desenvolvimento de protocolos técnicos, produção de conhecimento científico e ações de sensibilização ambiental. Em apoio ao Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres (CETAS) por meio de uma parceria com o Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (IBAMA), já atendeu mais de 2,3 mil animais desde agosto de 2020.
